T-Ball (Boys and Girls)
Ages 5-6 typically Kindergarten and Pre School (55 ft basepaths)
This is an instructional, in-house, co-ed program where the fundamentals are taught. Coaches will start live pitching to the kids by the end of the season.

Baseball - Cutoff date is age as of April 30th of the year. For example if the childs birthdate is 5/5/2000 then his age as of 4/30/2011 would be 10 years old and would be eligible to play 10U. If another childs birthdate is 4/5/2000, then his age as of 4/30/2011 would be 11 years old and then would need to sign up for a 12U level.

8U Baseball (Junior Midget Midget 2 (JMM2) - Coach Pitch)
Ages 7-8 typically 1st and 2nd Grade (60 ft. basepaths)
This level continues to instruct the fundamentals while introducing live game play, with coach pitching. The older kids wll learn some pitching by the end of the season in preparation for move to the next level.

10U Baseball (Junior Midget Midget 1 (JMM1) - Kid Pitch)
Ages 9-10 typically 3rd and 4th Grade (60 ft basepaths - 46 ft. rubber)
This in-house level, while still stressing fundamentals, begins to add the concept of team play and player pitching. A year-end, round robin tournament is held at the seasons end.

12U Baseball (Midget Midget - MM)
Ages 11-12 typically 5th and 6th Grade (70 ft basepaths - 50 ft. rubber)
This intermediate level of baseball is customized into three tiers to accommodate various levels of players skills (Section 1 through Section 3). This is a county wide travel league, with a few local, weekend tournaments and a league playoff.

14U Baseball (Junior Midget)
Ages 13-14 typically 7th and 8th Grade (80 ft basepaths)
This level of play is a three tiered level and is the last step before advancing to a full, High School size field. This level of play, as well as our younger levels, has an extremely strong history throughout the county and has prepared virtually all the High School players for the long and successful history that the school program has experienced.

16U Baseball (Midget)
Ages 15-16 typically 9th and 10th Grade (90 ft basepaths)
This two tiered level is an extension of the High School level as well as a level for those interested in the recreation and love of playing baseball.

18U American Legion
Ages 15-19 typically 11th and 12th Grade (90 ft basepaths)
Our association has the only program in the Lampeter Strasburg area that can offer this level. This level offers players exposure to college and major league scouting through its regular season, tournaments and all star games.

Softball - Cutoff date is age as of January 1st of the year. Please check with your commissioner or coach about specific bats that are ok to use. By general rule any bat that complies with Amateur Softball Association (ASA) guidelines will be suitable for play, to see specifics click here: www.asasoftball.com

8U Softball - Coach Pitch
Ages 8 & Under typically 1st and 2nd Grade (60 ft. basepaths - 35 ft. rubber)

This level continues to instruct the fundamentals introduced in T-Ball while introducing live game play. This is a Coach Pitch level and some minimal local travel will be required. Practice and games are typically played on Wednesday and Saturday.

10U Softball - Kid Pitch
Ages 10 & Under typically 3rd and 4th Grade (60 ft basepaths - 35 ft. rubber)
This level introduces competition to the girls by playing teams from other local communities. This is a Kid Pitch level and will require some local travel. Practice and games are typically played on Tuesday and Thursday. There will be an end of the season playoff and the opportunity to play in some nearby weekend tournaments.

12U Softball A & B Level
Ages 12 & Under typically 5th and 6th Grade (60 ft basepaths - 40 ft. rubber)
This level was developed in 1999 as a stepping stone to the 14U level. This is a travel level with an end of season playoff. Practice and games are typically played on Monday and Wednesday. There will be an end of the season playoff and the opportunity to play in some nearby weekend tournaments.

14U Softball A & B Level
Ages 13-14 typically 7th and 8th Grade (60 ft basepaths - 43 ft. rubber)
This level continues to prepare the girls for High School competition as well as providing the recreational environment they are looking for. This is a county wide travel league, with some weekend tournaments and an end of season league playoff. Practice and games are typically played on Tuesday and Thursday.

18U Softball
Ages 15-18 typically 9th to 12th Grade (60 ft basepaths - 43 ft. rubber)
SWS offers the only program in the Lampeter Strasburg area at this level. This is a county wide travel league where the girls can continue to develop and improve their skills for High School competition. There are several tournaments as well as a league playoff.
