How does this competition work?

Well maybe you have heard of punt, pass & kick competitions for football.  Pitch, Hit & Run works with the same principle.
  •  Pitch :  This portion is scored based on how accurately a competitor can throw strikes to a designated "Strike Zone" target.
  • Hit: Participants will hit from a stationary batting tee, along a tape measure from home plate.  Hits are measured for distance and accuracy.
  • Run:  Tests a participants speed from the start line, touching third base through home plate.

Who can participate?

This national skills program provides boys and girls, ages 7-14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.  Age groups for competition are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14.  Boys will compete using baseballs, baseball equipment and distances.  Girls will compete using softballs, softball equipment and distances.  Ages are based as of July 17, 2010.

What should I bring?

Be sure to bring a copy of your birth certificate, you cannot participate without it! You may also bring your bat, glove and wear your baseball/softball cleats (no metal spikes allowed).
